Walking Past the Past

Tonights post is a photo I took in Pittsburgh of one of its beautiful churches.  I used a fisheye lens to get a different perspective and just got lucky with the woman walking through the frame.  I wonder how many times she has walked by this church and never took a moment to admire the beauty of the church.

Hope you enjoy.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.  I have all intentions of making it there this year during the reenactments in July.

These are a couple of the statues on the Confederate side.  The gentleman on the horse is General Grant and the other photo is from Pickett’s Charge.GB Grant

Light and Shadow

Tonights photos take a look at the use of light and shadow to create a mood in the photo.  I like to look for situations, like the ones in these photos, where the light and shadow give a dark look to the photo.  You will see in the first and third photo that the mood is different from that of the middle one.

Let me know what you think.

Hope you enjoy.

Run Across the Street

Tonight’s’ post is a shot from Pittsburgh on Fifth Avenue.  I like to work with slow motion when shooting on the streets in the city.  I’ve been working on a series of photos all shot in the streets of the city.

This one is using a fisheye lens and slow shutter speed to get the motion of the business lady crossing the street.

Museum Teaser

Tonight’s post is  a teaser for tomorrow nights.  I took a trip to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History today and will be posting the shots tomorrow night but until then enjoy “Chasing Lunch”.

Psychedelic Fireworks

Well since last night post about fireworks was so popular I thought that I would share some more interesting photos of fireworks.  Some of these were accomplished by hand holding the camera and moving it around while taking a long exposure.

Hope you enjoy and if we all keep thinking “WARM” spring might just come early.
