Project 365 | Day 64 Frozen Falls

For todays photo we go to the majestic Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle State Park, Pa.  I live about 30 minutes away from this waterfall and have photographed it for many years now.  I have photographed it in every season, weather, and lighting that you can imagine and I always find something to challenge me when I’m there.  Because of the location of this waterfall exposure can be, lets say difficult, so for this shot I used a technique called HDR (High Dynamic Range).   Which is basically putting together several different photos and using the best parts of each, this one is from 5 different exposures.

Project 365 | Day 54 Cross at Your Own Risk

With the hours that I work it has been some time since I was off work with a little day light left.  Today was one of those rare occasions, so I took a walk around Pittsburgh.  On my stroll I came across this sign and noticed the bus coming up the road.  Waited and got this shot which I find funny. What do you think?

Project 365 | Day 53 Where did you come From?

If you have been following my 365 project you most likely saw the photo of my lost car in the snow that we had just a few short days ago.  And if you happen to live in Western Pa you will understand exactly where I’m coming from with this post.

We have some of the weirdest weather. A few days ago we had between two and three feet of snow and today the snow is gone the temps are in the upper 40’s or lower 50’s and this really weird thing is following me every where I walk.  I have seen this thing in the past and I really don’t know what to make of it.  I was wondering if you guys would care to enlighten me as to what this is in the photo?

Thanks for you help in advance.

ShadowOh and by the way, there is this really bright light in the sky theses last two days and I am still a little confused as to what that is as well.

For those of you that don’t live in Western Pa, we have an over abundance of what I like to call “Pennsylvania Gray” skies, which causes the sun to elude us quite often.

Project 365 | Day 52 Progress Update

Todays photo takes us back to the construction near Market Square in Pittsburgh.  They really have taken it up a notch with the digging and are doing some drilling as well.  That is what the large crane is working on in this photo.

Project 365 | Day 50 More Building Art

Thinking back to warmer weather and this thing in the sky called the sun.  Today I think I saw the sun if only for a moment while I was out.  So this shot is a reminder that the sun does exist and you will see it again in the near future..  Of course that is if you live in Southwestern Pa.

Project 365 | Day 49 Building Art

So work kept me away very late tonight so I kinda missed the midnight deadline that I gave myself for this project.  But I am posting a photo and since I’ve been awake since early in the morning I’m still calling it Tuesday.  I guess that falls under my project, my rules.  LOL

This photo was taken on Tuesday of a building across from my parking garage in downtown Pittsburgh.  I originally prepared it in color but I think that the subject was asking for a B&W with an old grainy film look to it.  What do you think?

Project 365 | Day 48 Visibility

Tonight’s photo is about how the weather can change so drastically in just a few minutes.  Tonight I was driving home from Greensburg when the weather went from clear and dry to this in a matter of about 8 minutes.  And a few minutes later the visibility was almost zero from the wind blowing the snow and ice across the roadway.

I can say that I’m really getting sick of driving in this stuff and am very impatiently waiting for spring.
