Ok I don’t rant about things very often but tonight I just have to COMPLAIN about an issue. But, before I do that I want to ask how many of you remember a movie called “Falling Down” staring Michael Douglas?

A middle-aged man dealing with both unemployment and divorce, William Foster (Michael Douglas) is having a bad day. When his car breaks down on a Los Angeles highway, he leaves his vehicle and begins a trek across the city to attend his daughter’s birthday party. As he makes his way through the urban landscape, William’s frustration and bitterness become more evident, resulting in violent encounters with various people, including a vengeful gang and a dutiful veteran cop (Robert Duvall).

So if you remember the movie, you might remember the scene when he goes into a restaurant and orders a sandwich and it doesn’t look anything like the picture on the menu. Well that’s exactly what my RANT is about tonight. I stopped by a fast food place tonight and grabbed a quick sandwich. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that looked really good on the menu and what I got when I opened it at home was NOT what the photo looked like. So my question is, at what point did we as a society decide that it was ok for these places to serve this?

The city can be a scary place for some but from the right perspective it can also be magnificent. I have the great fortune to live near a city that has a most beautiful skyline and last night the weather was warm and the rivers were calm, so I just had to take a little time and take a few photos. Now, the city I live near is settled just below Mt. Washington which allows for a unique view from above the city, which really makes for some great photos of the skyline. The city I’m referring to is none other than Pittsburgh, Pa. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit I would recommend taking the time to stop by. While your there stop on Mt. Washington and take in the view of the city, oh and by the way you have to stop by Primanti Brothers for one of their world famous sandwiches.

I hope you enjoy the views from Mt. Washington as much as I do.

Well we all know that during this time of the year in Southwestern Pa it snows and the state salts the road. The of course as soon as the sun comes out everybody runs to the car wash. So todays photo is a tribute to the time spent waiting in line to get that car cleaned up just to drive down the road through the water from the melting snow. It’s a never ending cycle here in the Northeast part of the U.S. #2eightphotography
