Today I just have a simple question.
Anybody for a picnic?

So today I thought we might visit another iron furnace. This one is located in Wharton Township in Fayette County, Pa. Built in 1837 and first fired in 1839 this stone structure remained in operation until 1873. The structure measures 31 feet deep, 31 feet high, and 33 feet high. #2eightphotography

I don’t know how many of you are train photographers, but several of my friends are quite good at it and I thought I would try it myself. So yesterday during my travels I decided that I would wait near a set of tracks and get a quick shot of the next train. Well let me say that waiting is just what I did. About an hour before the train showed up and by then I was about done waiting. Just as I was getting ready to hit the starter, I heard the distinctive noise of the gates dropping to warn oncoming traffic. So I grabbed my camera jumped out of my vehicle, ran to the spot that I had picked, and turned to see the train was right in front of me. An important side note to think about is that I didn’t hear the train until the air horn went off and if you were on those tracks you wouldn’t be alive right now. So if you going to try your hand at taking train photos STAY OFF THE TRACKS. So the result is not what I intended, but it’s a train and now I have a goal of getting better train photos.

Finish the day with a sunset in the mountains. Now that’s the way to spend your day off from work.

Start the morning off with a sunrise in the mountains.

Something that I miss is advertising on the side of buildings. There’s just something about a sign on the side of a building.

The city can be a scary place for some but from the right perspective it can also be magnificent. I have the great fortune to live near a city that has a most beautiful skyline and last night the weather was warm and the rivers were calm, so I just had to take a little time and take a few photos. Now, the city I live near is settled just below Mt. Washington which allows for a unique view from above the city, which really makes for some great photos of the skyline. The city I’m referring to is none other than Pittsburgh, Pa. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit I would recommend taking the time to stop by. While your there stop on Mt. Washington and take in the view of the city, oh and by the way you have to stop by Primanti Brothers for one of their world famous sandwiches.
I hope you enjoy the views from Mt. Washington as much as I do.

Sometimes its fun to photograph things from a different perspective. Tonight I took a photo of a street in Pittsburgh with a different view.

A few days ago I photographed a car at the car wash at night, so today I thought that I would show you the view through the windshield during the car wash.

Tonight we explore the interesting task of driving at night through timed photographs in light traffic. It’s really cool what you can get with a slightly longer exposure and the movement of the cars. Hope you enjoy these interesting results.
