One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to photography is focus. I feel that focus in a photo is one of the most important elements. I realize that we often use focus to emphasize a particular point and on occasion we use “out of focus” to do the same. But, there is a line at which a photograph really is just out of focus. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for using programs like photoshop, NIK software, Topaz and OnOne software, but you shouldn’t be using the effects that they are capable of to cover up what was a bad photo from the beginning. Even with all the advancement in photography and digital manipulation we still need to focus on the basics of photography. And one of those basics is focus. I guess what I’m really saying is that make sure you have a good photo to start with then have some fun with the different effects that are available to us as photographers….
